Guided tours for groups (minimum 15 people, max 35) led by the Curator, Chief Arborist or an experienced guide, can be made by prior arrangement.

We have disabled parking adjacent to the visitor centre, with level access to the centre, cafe and toilets. Unfortunately the terrain in the arboretum is not suitable for wheelchair access but for people with limited mobility several electric buggies are available to hire free of charge every day. Normal admission charges apply to users. Please be aware we do not have any hoist facilities and our volunteer staff cannot perform ‘manual transfers' in lieu of this and that for health and safety reasons, the rider must be accompanied by an able bodied person. The buggies are provided by volunteer fundraising, so a donation. towards their upkeep, insurance and future provision would be very much appreciated. To avoid disappointment please book at least 48 hours in advance by contacting our centre manager on tel: 01653 648598 or email:

Dogs are very welcome. They are allowed to run free in most areas but must be kept under control. Also owners must clean up after their pets. Dogs should be kept away from the Outdoor class rooms, Bird Feeding Station and also the lakes and pond areas in order that they do not disturb the ground nesting birds.
