Education Programme - Schools and Group Visits

The Arboretum offers a wide range of activities for all ages – from nursery school and primary to secondary and special interest groups. Our activities are hands-on, curriculum linked and delivered in the safe and beautiful surroundings of our 160 acre arboretum. Most assisted activities last one hour. Your needs will be discussed in advance and activities can be tailored to your group’s age and ability. In their simplest form these activities allow young children to fully explore their surroundings, for older students we run structured investigations with the use of a variety of ecological sampling techniques

We provide:

  • Beautiful and safe environment
  • Free planning visits (by arrangement)
  • Bespoke days to suit your group
  • Hands on activities and trails

  • Teacher pack with activity ideas and risk assessments
  • Equipment for hire for use within the Arboretum
