Furniture Makers Trees on the Furniture Makers Walk |
Furniture Makers trees at The Arboretum - Kew at Castle Howard |

In the Furniture Makers walk there are 14 paired specimens of important furniture timber trees. They have been exploited for timber since time immemorial and you will have seen many of them in use, knowingly or otherwise, for these trees provide much of the wood used today in domestic, school and office furniture, construction and many other areas. You may also be familiar with them as beautiful woodland and parkland trees, for many are native to the British Isles, but their usefulness goes way beyond their inestimable value to the landscape and environment. |
